February 2026 Film & TV Recap | Fallout, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms | Mini Reviews

February 2026 Film & TV Recap! February was a relatively slow month for me, mostly because we moved apartments and I had a lot going on outside of writing and reviewing. Regardless (pun intended, if you speak French), I did watch some pretty interesting things this month as well.

Note: I also rewatched My Neighbor Totoro, but I don’t review rewatches, so I didn’t add it to my list. However, I thought I should mention it, because it was the perfectly comforting watch for me after moving apartments.

So, without further ado—

February 2026 Film & TV Recap (FILMS):

Playtime (1967) dir. Jacques Tati

Playtime 1967 Jacques Tati Film Poster

Considered one of the greatest films ever made, Jacques Tati’s magnum opus is an absolute masterpiece. Stunning, magnanimous visuals that contain an artificiality that are perfectly balanced by the chaotic humanity of its characters, this satire on hyperconsumerism is a must watch!

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2025) dir. Nia DaCosta

28 Years Later The Bone Temple 2026 Film Poster featuring Ralph Fiennes Jack O'Connell and Alfie Williams

I didn’t have very high hopes for this one, and I got exactly what I expected. Some very interesting explorations of the infected, as well as intriguing imagery of religious cults. However, the film was missing the style of the Danny Boyle films, which I think is a key part of what makes this franchise so unique.

Overall, I found this one to be just okay. Have you seen it yet?

Sentimental Value (2026) dir. Joachim Trier

Sentimental Value 2025 Film Poster featuring Joachim Trier Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas & Elle Fanning

Most probably one of the best films I’ve seen this year, Sentimental Value is receiving some much deserved acclaim. A nuanced look at a dysfunctional father-daughter relationship, all peppered with themes of art and artists, memory, inheritance, coping and more, this was an absolute delight to watch.

I already loved Joachim Trier’s Oslo trilogy, but I found Sentimental Value to be a much more mature and nuanced film.

February 2026 Film & TV Recap (SHOWS):

Fallout Season 2

Fallout Season 2 New Vegas Ella Purnell Aaron Moten Moisés Arias Frances Turner Kyle MacLachlan Walton Goggins Amazon Prime Video

Fallout Season 1 was part of a new wave of Video Game adaptations that really respected the source material, delivering a solid entertainer. Season 2, however, had its issues. While Season 2 retained many elements that made Season 1 epic, it also featured way too many plotlines, pacing issues, and an overall lukewarm season.

The Chair Company Season 1

The Chair Company Season 1 Poster featuring Tim Robinson as Ron Trosper

Oof, what the f*ck did I just watch? If I’m being honest, the show was a near 4.5 star experience. However, that cliffhanger in the end just made me feel so damn disappointed.

Not counting that, however, The Chair Company was undoubtedly one of the most unhinged, absurd, and crazy comedic experienced of the year so far.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

I’ve been meaning to read the Dunk & Egg novellas for quite some time now. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. After reading that House of Dragons Season 2 was mostly a filler season, I was a little skeptical about this spin-off. However, I’m glad that it wasn’t.

Not only did A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms serve as a solid stand-alone story, it was entertaining, brutal, and everything that you’d expect from a Game of Thrones spin-off. Hell, it even poked fun at the original show in many ways.

The Death of Bunny Munro

The Death of Bunny Munro TV Series Poster featuring Matt Smith

Someone recommended this show to me as something very stylistic. However, the lead character of Bunny Munro was so deeply unlikeable that I just wasn’t able to enjoy this show as much as some others.

I understand that that’s the point of the show. It doesn’t glorify Bunny, instead constantly putting him in a bad light. Regardless, the show didn’t work for me as much as I had expected it to. It was interesting, but far from my favourite watch of the month.

Finally,

February 2026 was another relatively slow month on the TV and Film side. I kinda expected that. And like I mentioned, this year is going to be a tad slow on the review side of things. I hope that my slowed down output doesn’t anger the algorithm gods too much.
