March 2026 Reading Wrap-Up!

This month, I did read more than I had expected, almost as much as I used to last year. I’m glad I was able to find the time, but the books I read weren’t the best. Frankly, I had at least some major issues with everything I read, which would make this month an average one.

March 2026 Reading Wrap-Up!

The Devils by Joe Abercrombie – ★★★1/4

The Devils by Joe Abercrombie - 3.5 star review by Ronit J
The Devils (The Devils #1) by Joe Abercrombie

I love Joe Abercrombie. The Devils was one of my most anticipated releases of 2025. Unfortunately, this is also my second least-favourite Abercrombie book (of the eight that I’ve read). Don’t get me wrong, it had a lot of great moments, and I did get a ton of Joe’s literary gold. However, a lot about the plot and characters also didn’t work for me.

An Inkling of Flame: A Song of the Damned novella by Z.B. Steele – ★★★3/4

An Inkling of Flame: a Song of the Damned novella by Z.B. Steele

A teaser/trailer to Steele’s Song of the Damned, this one honestly did a fantastic job with the characters. I felt like I was part of the group from start to end. The story structure added a great flavour to this tragedy.

The Cutting Garden by Darcy Van Poelgeest, Erin Connally & Aditya Bidikar – ★★★

The minimalist watercolour style with its brilliant use of light and shadows to create contrasts brilliantly set a haunting atmosphere. Each panel is a meditative watercolour painting that you can sit down and admire for a long time.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders by Hirohiko Araki – ★★★1/2

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3 Stardust Crusaders by Hirohiko Araki

After two amazing parts (with some issues), part three continues to pull on the crank of craziness all the way. You’d expect the crank to break, but no. Araki’s ingenuity shines with the introduction of Stands and the insanity that follows with this new style of combat and challenges. I loved Part 3 Stardust Crusaders just a smidge more than the previous 2 parts, and am already making my way through Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable.

March 2026 Reading Wrap-Up | Current Read:

This month, I continued my journey with Dungeon Crawler Carl, which I have been waiting to get back into. I’m halfway through The Gate of the Feral Gods. I was hoping to finish it before the month end, but well… c’est la vie.

In addition, I also started reading JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable. I don’t know if I’ll be all caught up to this series by the end of the year, but it’s certainly going to be a constant read for me for a while.

Lastly, I also read The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit by Seth Godin. However, it was less a book and more of an extended essay that you can probably peruse through in a single sitting. I found some ideas to be interesting, but largely it’s up to you whether you want to read something like this.
