February 2026 Reading Wrap-Up!
Okay, the year is going slow as expected on the reading front. It’s not that I didn’t want to read more, but I was just busy. I moved apartments, I made progress on some projects, and I had other commitments to take care of. And honestly, the whole year is pretty much going to look like that. I didn’t even watch as many movies and shows as I normally would. So, on that note, let’s get to this very short Reading-Wrap Up:

February 2026 Reading Wrap-Up!
Barrier The Collected Edition by Brian K Vaughan (story), Marcos Martín (artist) & Munsta Vicente (artist) – ★★★1/4

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC.
This is my third Brian K Vaughan story, and honestly, this was the weakest of his works I’ve read. I really loved the artwork, but the story and character development left a whole lot to be desired. I’ll admit, the multi-lingual story was quite an interesting read. The themes were relevant, but felt under-explored. It’s not a bad graphic novel, but it did leave me feeling a little underwhelmed.
My full review will be live soon on SFF Insiders.
Absolute Batman Vol 1 The Zoo by Scott Snyder (story), Nick Dragotta (illustrations) & Frank Martin (colorist) – ★★★★

What the @#$% did I just read? The biggest problem I’ve had with Batman in recent times is his status as a Billionaire. And you know what the Absolute Universe does? It makes him a working class man with genius level intellect, who uses his skills to expertly build his legend as the Batman. Also, this was much more brutal and entertaining than I expected it to be.

February 2026 Reading Wrap-Up | Current Read:
I said this before: The Devils was one of my most anticipated releases of 2025. However, I’m not enjoying this one as much as I thought I would. I expected the rocky start, but even 75% into the book, I’m not feeling the writing and the characters do their magic like the First Law novels. I understand what many of the critics for this book meant when they said this feels like it’s written to be made into a movie. In fact, I’d even say this feels like Joe’s version of a Marvel movie, with dark humour. Well, I should be done this weekend, so expect my review in the next wrap up.
I also read a few chapters of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders by Hirohiko Araki, but not too many. This one is longer than the last two parts, and with my slowed down pace, I guess I might not really catch up to all of JoJo even by the end of the year. Let’s see how it goes.

Finally,
