December 2025 Reading Wrap-Up!
First off, Happy New Year! I’m writing this in 2025, but this is going to be posted in 2026. What a crazy year 2025 has been, no? Unfortunately for me, December the slowest month reading as well. Personal life demanded my attention, and many depressing current affairs took a toll on my mental health, all of which ate into my reading time. I even delayed posting some videos on YouTube as a result.
But, once I was ready, I went at it full on, because this is the last month of the year, and I wanted to end on a high note. And I did!
So, without further ado…

December 2025 Reading Wrap-Up!
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency by Hirohiko Araki – ★★★1/2

Almost immediately, I knew I was going to love this part more than Phantom Blood. However, like Phantom Blood, I did have some issues with Battle Tendency. It’s not perfect, but it’s still crazy, wild, and absurd enough to make me love Araki’s imagination. Slowly, but surely, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is making its way into my favourite mangas of all time!

We Burned So Bright by TJ Klune – ★★★★

I was not ready for that punch in the gut. A cozy dystopian road trip that’s as warm as a comforting hug, and as cold as death’s grip, TJ Klune presents a very sensitive story of two gay men at the end of the world. Certainly the most heartbreaking book I’ve read this year, one that made me cry and appreciate the people I have in my life.

Jade Legacy (Book 3 of The Green Bone Saga) by Fonda Lee – ★★★★★

And with this, I’ve completed my personal challenge of reading a full trilogy in 2025. What an epic saga this has been! From the clan war in Jade City, to the global scale conflict in Jade Legacy, our characters not only grow and evolve, but also change in ways that is reflective of real human lives. I legit had tears in my eyes when some of the characters met their end.
I understand now why The Green Bone Saga is so well-loved and highly acclaimed. It fully deserves it, and Jade Legacy is certainly one of the best fantasy books I’ve read in my whole life.
My full review will be live soon on SFF Insiders.
