South Park Season 27 28 both released in the year 2025. Created by Trey Parker & Matt Stone, this iconic adult animation’s 27th & 28th seasons each consisted of 5 episodes, and mocked Trump’s administration, often poking fun at events within weeks of their happening.
While the show was originally slated to run 10 episodes per season, halfway through they cut each season down to just 5 episodes each, releasing 28 immediately after season 27. However, both seasons tell an overarching story of Trump’s administration, so that is why I decided to review both seasons together.
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
South Park Season 27 28 Synopsis:
After Trump is elected as President for the second time, all hell breaks loose as citizens scramble to make sense of the many policy and cultural changes.
South Park Season 27 28 Review:
I first discovered South Park when I was a kid, and my country’s cable TV didn’t give that big of a fuck. I thought it was just a cartoon, but it turned out to be exactly the kind of fucked up adult comedy that my 13-year-old self needed. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate South Park’s beautifully twisted writing, marrying crass humour with extremely relevant and serious topics to create a unique watching experience.
When I read the news that known child-sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s former friend, Donald Trump, was elected as President for a second time—what the fuck is wrong with you, USA?—I knew Trey Parker & Matt Stone were going to have a field day with their upcoming season. However, I just expected them to do some crazy shit with Mr Garrison. It was quite the unpleasant surprise when I saw an actual cutout of Trump’s face pasted onto a comically tiny body with a micropenis.
I was almost certain this season was going to get cancelled midway through. But, I also knew we’d have a hell of a time with as many episodes as we get, as the show went down in blazing glory.

Fighting Fire With Fire
When injustice plagued our society in the past, our ancestors took to the streets. The French guillotined royalty, which to this day remains one of the most powerful symbols of revolution. In today’s technocratic oligarchy, or whatever brand of dystopian nightmare you want to call this, revolutions aren’t convenient enough. We’re distracted by pointless social media trends and apps that mine our data. They then use that data to make us buy things we don’t need, with money we don’t have, to live a life that’s not really ours. In such testing times, art becomes a beacon of hope. Of inspiration. Of telling people that someone out there is listening, and speaking for them.
The very fact that South Park was bold enough to poke fun at the most powerful people in their country (and arguably, the world) is a testament to the power of art. The fact that they did not back down no matter what is a sign of hope. Where One Piece is inspiring Gen Z revolts across the world, South Park is showing us that even the powerful are still human. Hanlon’s Razor states that “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”. While I do not believe that our current brand of fascist overlords are plain stupid, I do believe they are fallible. And to see them mocked openly like this contributes to humanize them. And that is an essential part of the human experience: to accept that even your enemies are mere fallible humans.
You can’t topple gods. But you can topple humans. South Park’s 27th and 28th seasons have played a massive gamble by going all out with their mockery. And for that, they will forever have my utmost respect.
The show is incredibly insulting. However, I do not believe that people who are responsible for literally denying citizens their human rights, funding a genocide that kills innocent children, and contributing to making the world a worse place are deserving of our respect. Fuck the fascists.
Not a Review | Deal with it

I originally started writing this as a review, but I don’t think I can.
With every passing year, I lose a little bit of hope for a better future. The world is on fire, and everything sucks. And a lot of it isn’t even our fault. As funny as it is to watch a show like South Park and laugh at the mockery, it’s also a reminder that we’re living in one of the worst times of social inequality. Capitalism failed in 2008, but the wealthy continue to pretend like it’s the only solution. We’re a failing society doomed to perish if we do not change our ways.
That’s just a tiny nugget of the mental turmoil I—and many others—deal with on a daily basis because we possess empathy.
I guess that is why I love South Park so much. Not only does it say what I want to say, it does so whilst being 10x more crass and 100x more funny. Every gag comes with at least 4 articles worth of context. Every storyline is ridiculous, yet relevant. What’s more, they actually manage to tell a long coherent, albeit absurd story that satirises an already bizarre world. Hats off to their creativity, and more so for their courage.
Some day, I hope that creators in India make this kind of content that doesn’t hold back from punching up against the uber rich and the casteist elites who think they own us. But, until then, just enjoy whatever content you can find.
South Park Season 28 Ending Explained
Just as Trump & Vance break Peter Thiel & Pete Hegseth out of the police lockup, Satan confronts them about wanting to kill his baby. In the midst of all this, even Jesus appears, apologising to Stan because he too had gotten swayed by the crushingly hopeless situation that plagued American society. Jesus abandons Trump.
Satan goes into labour and is admitted to Room 67. Trump and gang rush to the hospital with the intention of killing the baby. However, the doctor informs them that the baby—the antichrist—killed itself when no one was looking. Fox News “mourns” the baby. Trump throws a “funeral” for his unborn child, which is more of a celebration. Seeing his abusive, narcissistic side, Satan finally packs his bags and leaves the White House.
Stan gets his Christmas Miracle in the form of his own home back. Jesus apologises and promises to overlook society as long as they stick to their commitments.
The ending is quite a fitting end to the story arc from Seasons 27 & 28, if you ask me. The situation is so bleak that even Jesus caves and bends to ideals that the real Jesus never would. Satan feels gaslight and abused, and his baby kills itself. In the end, only the selfish asshole wins because he has power and money on his side, while regular folks are all either out of jobs, struggling with healthcare and sustenance, and just overall living a horrible life. The only thing that can possibly fix it is a miracle.
But will America get its Christmas Miracle?
Is South Park Season 27 28 Worth Watching?

Fuck yeah! Watch it, then wonder what went wrong in the real world.
More importantly, wonder what you can do to fix it.
Will there be a South Park Season 29?
We don’t know for sure. South Park Seasons 27 & 28 had some pretty tough production challenges, with many episodes delayed for weeks as a result. On one hand, I’d love to see what more Parker & Stone have in store for the dumpster fire that is American politics. However, if they decide to take a break and seek rest, I’ll wholeheartedly support them.
As of writing this post, there hasn’t been any official news of renewal, but you never know. IMDb shows a listing for Season 29, but that can’t be counted as certainty.
In Conclusion:
South Park Seasons 27 & 28 are a must-watch. Shows like these that do not hold back against absolute fascism are a need of the hour. If only we had shows like these in India…
